Sonny-Vincent-Snake-Pit-Therapy

Hailing from the streets of New York City, Sonny Vincent has developed a reputation as one of the more intense figures to emerge from the punk rock underground from the 1970’s.

Erupting on the NewYork scene with his band ‘Testors’ at the epicenter of the punk rock explosion in 1976 with their fiery temperament and desire to burn every bridge in sight. Their incendiary sound consisted of dueling guitar noise, scrappy garage bashing and Sonny Vincent’s street poetry. Starting off within the creative brew and atmosphere of his performances at Max’s Kansas City and CBGB Sonny hit the road for a lifetime of dizzying heights and soul draining lows.

Snake Pit Therapy is his debut book.

This book offers a powerful, unique look at his years in the underground music world. Alongside original short stories and poetry there are glimpses of his years touring and recording with members of The Velvet Underground, Stooges, The Replacements, and an endless revolving cast of stars and degenerates. This collection will grab an immediate hold as the words peel off the page. Sonny Vincent’s artistic talents are as strong as his will to keep his work pure across music, writing, visual artwork, and filmmaking. Sonny’s worldwide art exhibits involved sound, light and sculptural elements, manipulating sensory perception. His film Mannequin World premiered on TV shows in the USA and shown at various museums and art institutions. Prepare, buckle up and jump in the Pit. Welcome to Snake Pit Therapy.
